Temporary entry that may help

Sabbat is a celebration or festival and their are 8 sabbats equally spread throughout the year. In different traditions some have different names but they are Samain (Halloween), winter solstice (yule or Christmas), imbolg (Easter), spring equinox, beltane (may day), summer solstice, Lughnasa (harvest festival), autumn equinox. You will see they form two groups the 4 sabbats to do with fertility or the farming year shown in italic and the 4 connected with the sun, some traditions place a greater importance on one set than the other.

The timing of these  may be connected with the calendar dates, the moon cycle, sun cycle or specific plants reaching certain growth stages.
