Welcome:-

Water Witches

New version of site

see development news

We are one of many witchcraft traditions,  with covens here and there, as well as many solitary and family members spread widely.

We are what many would call a mix between a hereditary and traditional branch or tradition, in that we have a long history, some of our family will have inherited their skills, others passed down through a coven, some instinctual and some learnt from another family member, or just decided this was the ideal path through life for them.

We do not seek to convert anyone to our beliefs, but those who seek us out are welcome to share most of our knowledge, and to join our family or community if they wish.

Those who choose to join, become a member of our family, which is a community that does its best to help and support each other, to share skills, ideas, and to provide support or help when needed.  Covens are branches of the family, and allow, different family members within the coven to specialize in different areas, or skills, so that counseling, advice, paramedical, and spirit help, and more is available. There are no fees and no member is financially rewarded for providing help to any other.

If you are fairly new to the craft, or only read before widely on Wicca, you may find it helpful to first do our short introductory on line course to get a basic understanding before looking in detail at our path. Click here for the course

Advice: Live in today and prepare for tomorrow.

Aqua, the leader of all the Water Witches would like to offer you the greatest advice he can give to any person, it is to live in today and prepare for tomorrow. By this he means, get the most out of life in all ways, enjoy your life and everything around you, feel useful, fulfilled and enthusiastic about life and in control, but at the same time, well at least some of the time think about improving the future, improving the enjoyment of others around you, learning new skills of interest to you, becoming fulfilled in every way from romantically to spiritually.

We believe that becoming a Water Witch is one route to achieving this aim, we don't claim it is the only one, and have a very tolerant and open view to others.

Our objective in this web site.

The objective of this web site, is to allow you to find out more about us, our beliefs, some of our skills, and how to join should you feel that this is the route for you. There is very little waco or crazy stuff here, or in fact within our covens, much of our knowledge lines up with many other areas from Psychology to herbalism, and even many areas of our magic are easy to explain and understand. We have more craft skills than ceremonials but when we put on a performance we do it to the very best of our ability, using all the theatrical and magical effects to the full.

You will see we have arranged the contents on the left, in a outline structure, allowing you to get directly to a topic, however you will usually find to start that it is better to start with a section page and work down, as we do not repeat information held at a higher level. If you want to, you can read the site from top to bottom and this you will see is logically organized to allow you to do this. Remember at all times that this is an introduction site, so the level of detail we go into is limited, but it should allow you to get a good idea and progress rapidly.

If this is a repeat visit, then you may  have spotted we have pruned the site, from what was here last year. The reasons for this are, moving a lot of detail on witchcraft generally to the school of witchcraft site, and in line with many other traditions removing all the information that could allow individual members to be identified.

Over time more will be added again to this site.

Finding out more

This site is good for information on traditional craft  information and Water Witches specifically, but there are other places you can go to find out more.

You can find out more about all the traditions in witchcraft at www.school-of-witchcraft.com or find other traditional witchcraft and related sites linked through www.book-of-shadows.org. together with some general information relating to traditional witchcraft from history to research being carried out to further develop craft skills today.

We have another site www.water-witches.org, that provides information for our covens/members, but is not open to the public.

The Traditional Craft Association's site at www.book-of-shadows.org is the site where you will find links to other traditional paths, joint projects between paths and a largish portal giving many links to other sites connected with all types of witchcraft.
